Our Story
A family. A river. A welcome.
Founded in 1998 by Datuk Henry Kerr Pierre and Datin Mariam Pierre, our family has poured three decades into a single belief: that genuine hospitality is the highest form of luxury.

Heritage
The Kerr Pierre Family arrived in Kuching from Sandakan in 1962. What began as a modest river-trading concern grew, over two generations, into one of Sarawak's most respected hospitality houses. The Waterfront Plaza, opened in 1998 and reborn in 2019 after a complete reimagining, is the family's flagship.
Place
We sit at the heart of the Kuching Waterfront promenade, steps from the Astana, the Square Tower, and the city's historic bazaar. From every floor, the Sarawak River shapes the view — and the rhythm of the day.
Craft
208 rooms, each finished in Borneo ironwood and locally woven textiles. Three restaurants, led by Chef Andrew Lim. A spa devoted to the wellness traditions of Sarawak's twenty-seven indigenous peoples.
Promise
Every guest is welcomed by name. Every detail is considered. Every stay is, in its own way, a piece of our family story.
